Rugby League in na Muaira

Rugby League is Fiji’s most entertaining sport.

With a rich history dating back to our first Fijian rugby league players on 11th November 1961, Rugby League have grown to be the 3rd most popular sport in Fiji.

The Muaira Rugby League Cup is the hotly contested sporting competition in the western part of country and the Vanua State of Origin series between Muaira Rugby League and Easterner is Fijian rugby league’s greatest rivalry.

At its heart, Rugby League is a community-based sport played by many Fijians across Fiji, especially in country areas. In addition, there are countless people who give their time volunteering to ensure boys and girls, teenagers and adults can play the sport they love each weekend.

On these pages, you can find out more about Rugby League from the grassroots through to the elite level – and the role of the Muaira Rugby League and the Fiji National Rugby League in administering the sport.
